Well it is time to move a little south today but a few things to do first.

A little walk around Horseshoe Bay and Grays Bay which is very pretty. A swim in the FREE 50m heated pool and then breaky in the park. Then onwards we go.

We had a long drive to Parkhurst which is about 10 minutes north of Rockhampton. Unfortunately between Bowen and Mackay there was continuous roadworks. We were driving at 80, 60, 40, 100, 80, 60, 40 forever changing all the time. The Bruce Highway is David’s nemesis. It drives him nuts. He thinks it is quite monotonous, so I suppose he should have been happy with the changing speed but he was not.

So I would say we have progressed fairly quickly south today considering the last few weeks. We both have mixed feelings about this. Looking forward to seeing everyone at home but sad to be ending such an amazing adventure. We still have a few stops planned along the way so we don’t have an exact ETA but we are homeward bound.
