Port Germain, SA

We had a quiet rest day today.

We started with a 7km walk along the foreshore or Port Germain followed by a walk out along the jetty. The water was calm and the tide was out. As we finished our walk on the way back along the jetty, David noticed tyre tracks heading out passed the jetty. We were wondering if maybe boats were towed out to the deeper water like when we were at Marahau in New Zealand. Our question was answered as we goy to the start of the jetty, we saw a boat being towed out and later that day I saw a tractor tow another boat out.

I tended to house keeping stuff and David did a bit of work for the rest of the day. I went for another 5km walk in the other direction of the foreshore this afternoon. It was a very pleasant walk.

Time to move on tomorrow.

: A little trip to Port Pirie to restock and refuel. Ouch! This one really hurt. The most expensive petrol in 2018 was $2.15 on the Gibb River Rd and on our Simpson Desert trip last year was $2.27 at Mt Dare. Both these places were in the middle of nowhere. It hurts that we are almost paying that price every time we buy fuel.

: This caravan park is amazing. Every afternoon about 3pm the caravans roll in for the night, then tomorrow morning by about 8am they are all gone again, for the same thing to happen again the next day with another new group of vans. It is just in a great spot for continuous turnover being a central to people from Melbourne, NSW, SA for traffic heading to WA and the NT. What a gold mine.
