La Grande Motte – Tour to Carcassonne

Day 2 of team tours. We headed off to Carcassonne – a mediaeval village. This was amazing. We did a guided tour of the town which was really interesting. DB was unfortunately taken down by a bug or some food poisoning and was very ill for the full day. He had to leave the tour group at the city square to find a bathroom and this cost him 1 euro to be sick. I stayed with the group and gave him directions to find us via SMS. He eventually caught up with us. It was a very challenging day for him, I am glad I had my bout of illness at night in the apartment. I missed the tour of the castle as he was too ill to leave when it started. I went for a wander once he got a bit better. It was so big and the view from the fortress walls was amazing. Missed the historical information but will read up on this when I get a chance. We had a traditional meal for lunch with Brie on toast squares and salad. Hot pot casserole of duck, beef and lamb with white beans. Then another beautiful dessert. The French definitely know how to make dessert. So far nothing has matched the Crème Brulee on the first night. DB too ill to go to dinner but I headed down and had dinner with the group for the last night.
